Longstanding support for the Stroke Foundation

Professor Cadilhac has worked closely with the Stroke Foundation for twenty years. She has improved stroke care through various programs, including her roles in:

·      The Australian Stroke Data Tool (AusDAT), which collects and provides data for national audits and other programs.

·      Data custodian for the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry (AuSCR), which uses AusDAT data and follows up people with stroke to provide important information on the patient journey through stroke.

·      The National Stroke Audit

She has also helped with the Stroke Foundation’s advocacy for programs such as the Australian Telestroke Network, based on the successful Victorian Stroke Telemedicine Program (VST), for which Cadilhac is Research Lead. The Australian Telestroke Network will allow rapid assessment and treatment of rural stroke patients with real-time video consultation with a stroke specialist.
