Professor Dominique Cadilhac wins Stroke Foundation award

Professor Dominique Cadilhac has won the Stroke Foundation’s prestigious President’s Achievement Award.

The winner was announced at the Stroke Awards Ceremony this morning at Melbourne Town Hall.




Professor Cadilhac is head of Public Health and Health Services Research at the Florey. She received her award for her extensive contributions to stroke research and public health policy. In addition to leading the Victorian Stroke Telemedicine Program and being data custodian for AuSCR, she has contributed to Stroke Foundation programs including the National Audit, stroke prevention programs, and the Stroke and Absolute Risk Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Guidelines. 

Other award recipients include Lynette "Saxy Lady" Gordon-Smith, who proved her doctors wrong by successfully playing saxophone after her stroke, and Jo Cordell Cooper, a personal trainer who raised over $50,000 for the Stroke Foundation.
